We finished the Stronghold series this past Sunday, and it was a great ending to really powerful series. I learned so much. One thing in particular that I learned is to recognize when a situation is spiritual in nature. Normally, I might think that people are out to get me…someone is being mean to me when they act a certain way. I may retaliate in some way…perhaps in a passive aggressive way and boom…it all blows up to WWIII proportions.
But that is a horrible mistake to try and fight a supernatural battle with natural weapons. The Apostle Paul said, “for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of strongholds.” (2 Corinthians 10:4)
So when I realize that this battle I’m facing is supernatural, I must pray to see it through my spiritual eyes, and use the weapons of the Spirit.
Lord, help me to put on Truth…help me to tell the truth from the lies that is being told. Help me not to jump to conclusion based on false information or assumptions. Help my response to be truthful and not a fleshly reaction.
